Playstation 2 Price Drop and The Jedi Talks!

It looks like the PS2 is kickin' off a price war with the Gamecube and the Xbox. The price on the Playstation 2 game console dropped like a rock on May 14, 2002. Now you can pick up a Playstation 2 for only $199 US ($310 CDN) rather than $299 US ($466 CDN.) You can even get an original Playstation for $49 US ($76 CDN)!

The Gamecube and the Xbox can blow the socks off the PS2, so it's about time the price dropped. All we need now are tons of Playstation 2 cheats, codes and walkthroughs so we can kick butt at our fave games. More good news for Playstation 2 owners - Square (the creators of Final Fantasy) and Disney are coming out with Kingdom Hearts. It's about 14 year-old Sora who ends up in a magical land ruled by King Mickey and the rest of the Disney gang. What's even cooler is that it's full of celeb voices! Lance Bass (from *NSYNC,) Mandy Moore (from A Walk to Remember,) David Boreanaz (from Angel,) Haley Joel Osment (from AI,) Sean Astin (from The Lord of the Rings,) and a ton more stars are recording the voices. Currently the Xbox is not doin' so hot game-wise. The only good game is Star Wars: Obi-Wan. There's really nothing new with the Playstation 2 either, unfortunately, so the console news this week is a big snore!
