Rachel McAdams - Small Town Girl

Rachel McAdams was born in London, Ontario in Canada, but grew up in the small town of St. Thomas, Ontario. At a very early age, Rachel began her performance career. She started figure skating when she was just four, and soon her need to show off in front of an audience led her to auditioning for local plays. She eventually joined the Original Kids Theatre Company in London, Ontario, which led her to major in Theatre Arts at York University.

Rachel McAdams - Breakthrough Role

After appearing in a few Canadian productions like My Name is Tanino and Perfect Pie, Rachel headed to LA to try her luck at landing a bigger role. Instead of having to go from bad audition to bad audition, Rachel landed a great part right away as the lead in the flick, The Hot Chick. Rachel plays a snotty teenager who wakes up one day to realize she's swapped bodies with a 30 year-old man (played by Rob Schneider). It wasn't long before Rachel would hit the big screen as another stuck-up teen as Regina George in the Lindsay Lohan/Tina Fey movie, Mean Girls.

Rachel McAdams - Hollywood's "It" Girl

She may play a mean Mean Girl, but Rachel McAdam's real success came from her role in the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks' book, The Notebook. Rachel plays Allie, a rich, young girl who falls madly in love with a boy from the wrong side of the tracks (played by fellow Canadian, Ryan Gosling). Rachel recently walked away with three MTV Movie Awards in 2005, including Best Kiss for her on-screen lip-lock with Ryan Gosling in The Notebook. In 2005, Rachel has a couple more movies due out including Wedding Crashers with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn and Red Eye, a Wes Craven thriller.
