S Club 7's Big Break

S Club 7 began working on their first album and also on a TV series for Britain's BBC called Miami 7. The show is about the adventures of an up-and-coming music group living in Florida. In 1999 they released their debut album in England called S Club (released in the US in 2000) and the first song Bringing It All Back hit the top of the charts. Around the same time the TV show Miami 7 became the top kids' show in the UK. The show hit the US on the Fox Family Channel in the fall of 1999 and changed its name to S Club 7 in Miami. S Club 7 put out its second album called 7 in the UK, but it wasn't available in the US until 2001. In 2002, S Club 7 released its third album, Don't Stop Movin'. Shortly after the release of the third album, Paul Cattermole left S Club 7. The group changed their name to S Club for a while but broke up in May of 2003.

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
