Funny Family
Shia (rhymes with hi-ya) LaBeouf was named after his
grandfather, who is a
comedian. Young Shia also liked making people laugh and used to perform a stand-up
comedy act at local coffee joints around his neighborhood in
California. After seeing a friend's performance on a
TV show, Shia decided he should try acting too. His mom,
Shayna LaBeouf, agreed and Shia began calling agents out of the yellow pages the very next day. He performed a stand-up piece for one, and was
signed.
Even Stevens Digs Holes
In 2000, Shia auditioned to be a main character on a new
Disney Channel show. Shia snagged the role of
Louis Stevens in the very funny show Even Stevens. Despite the shows popularity, and a TV movie,
Even Stevens ended in 2003. But
Shia LaBeouf had impressed a lot of people as the hilarious Louis Stevens. Finally, Shia's big break on the big screen came when he was cast in the hit
Disney movie,
Holes, based on the book by Louis Sachar.

Shia LaBeouf's killer performance in Holes made him the It Hollywood actor. Soon he had roles in

The Greatest Game Ever Played, Bobby,

Transformers. This year, Shia will be seen in
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, one of the
summer's most anticipated films. On the horizon for one of the
hardest working actors in the biz is Eagle Eye, and a
sequel to Transformers is expected to drop in the summer of 2009.
