2008 Spring Fashion Preview
By Helen Lee
Whether you're going away for spring break or staying in town, find out what's in style for spring 2008!
Prints Galore
When we say prints, we're not talkin' about those granny-style prints of years past. This season's prints are bold, strong and
very flashy, with two of the most popular being
stars and flowers. Don't be afraid to
mix up your patterns, but be careful you don't leave the house in head-to-toe prints. Try checking out
vintage shops to score some fabulous cheap finds. If you're not big on prints, then consider a
graphic-printed accessory like a
scarf. And now that the snow has melted and the showers have started, put away your
winter boots and make a splash in a cute and colorful pair of
Wellies! Grab one with a
star print, like this one from your local
Target.
The New Denims
Although you don't have to say goodbye to your
skinnies,
wide-leg jeans are makin' an appearance (or should we say,
reappearance?) on
the denim front. This trend has been slow to start, but we guarantee they'll be spring's
must-have clothing! And for anyone who is tired of low-rise jeans, say hello to the
high-rise, which trendsetters like Kate Moss and
Gwen Stefani have already been wearin' about town for awhile now. Tuck a cool tank or tee into 'em and you'll be stylin' for school.
Bold Color Palette
Ditch the pastels. This season, you'll see an
explosion of bright, bold colors like orange, purple, canary yellow, cobalt and hot pink. These
eye-popping shades are sure to catch the attention of your crush, plus a few others! If ya can't make up your mind about which color combinations to wear, go the way of
colorblocking, which tops our list of favorite spring trends. Big blocks of
contrasting colors create the look of colorblocking, and it's seen on everything from tops and dresses to bags and
shoes.
