Dear Gary,
I read your video game help guide for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on the Playstation 2. Now I am stuck in the game and it said to email you if that happened. I have looked all over the internet and I can't find the answer I am looking for. There is a part in the Avifors Challenge where you climb up from a block and have to jump across to a ledge while avoiding the ghost ladies. As soon as you jump across, you have another big jump, then you have to sneak along a ledge and then you have two small leaps to other ledges. Then I get stuck. There is a BIG leap and the view on the game does not let you change the angle for this one jump no matter what you do. And, since jumping is done by the angle in which you are looking/facing, I NEVER make this jump without falling. I don't know how to get past here. Am I supposed to run and jump? Go to the very edge and jump? Jump at an angle? I have tried everything I can and I NEVER even come close enough that Harry can grab the edge on the ledge I am jumping to. I always just fall way short. Please help. Tell me how I need to do this.

I don't know if I should be helping you out with video game cheats - you sound like a Slytherin! I'll tell ya what though, I'll give you a walkthrough for the part of the game you're stuck on, but next time you see Draco Malfoy you have to give him a huge wedgie.

Avifors Spell Challenge Walkthrough - The Entry

Ok, so you're in the big square room in McGonagall's Avifors spell challenge. There's a crumbled ledge around the edge of the room that's about 10 feet up and there's a big, hollow stone block in the middle of the room. You've already used Lumos to find the secret wall inside the block and pushed it so you can use it to get on top of the big stone block so that's awesome.

Here's a Harry Potter game hint for you - use Skurge to clear the exit door now, it's the one with green gunk all over it. This way you have tons of time to dodge the ghost that comes out rather than having to dodge it later.

Avifor's Spell Challenge Walkthrough - The Ledge

Now you have to jump from the stone block to the nearest ledge and start making your way around the room. It's fairly basic jumping to get from ledge to ledge, just watch out for the spooky ghosts! If the distance is too far, you'll have to sneak along the side of the wall to get to the next ledge without falling.

The part you're stuck on is the really long gap near the end. When the screen forces you to stare at the wall like that, it's because Harry Potter needs to get really close to the wall and start sneaking along the tiny ledge that's left. There's no way to jump the distance, you just have to sneak across.
