The Xbox is shaping up to be the biggest thing to hit video games since the Nintendo. Microsoft has a lot of muscle behind the black box. Check out whats going on under the hood.

Coming your way in the Fall of 2001 is the mighty Xbox! It's Microsoft's first ever console game system. Big Bill is getting into the video game biz and he's doing it big. The Xbox system is all geared to blow everything else out of the water. It has more than twice the power and graphics of the PS2 and the soon-to-be-arriving Gamecube. It's also stocked up with 64 MB of ram, a custom video chip, High Definition TV capability, broadband internet power, DVD and a partridge in a pear tree. This thing is BIG.

The Xbox isn't all about hardware though. Big Bill has done more than build a monster black box. He's gone to all the folks that make the best games and he's signed them up to make games for the Xbox. This means that the big black monster is gonna be the fastest kid on the block AND he'll be the one with the most toys. Are you gonna hang with him? You better believe it.

Even Pro Wrestler The Rock says the Xbox gets his Brama Bull Stamp of Approval. The first time the curtain came up and folks got to see the Xbox was in Las Vegas and The Rock stepped up on stage and delivered a few words about the Xbox, Microsoft and Bill Gates.

"Go out there, know your role, get the console," The Rock said. He sounded serious.

The big question is will it all come together? Microsoft has never done this before and so far no one's seen a full power system. As of Feb 16th 2001 there's still no word on the price tag either. If it ends up way too expensive, or just plain doesn't work, that's gonna suck.

What's take on the Xbox? Is it a good thing? A bad thing? Do you care?
