Ewan McGregor's voice shows up as the robot star of the animated adventure/comedy movie, Robots - which is from the same peeps who brought you Ice Age! Ewan plays Rodney Copperbottom, a young genius of an inventor who wants to hit the big times in Robot City and meet his hero, the legendary Bigweld. But, things go horribly wrong as the big city, and some robo-jerks, try to put the smackdown on Rodney. Here's what's up with this new flick!

Robots - What's Going On in Robot City?

After hitting Robot City at warp speed, Rodney gets tangled up with a gang of robot misfits lead by the crazy Fender (Robin Williams). Then he finds out that the evil Phineas T. Ratchet and his not-so-evil co-worker, Cappy (Halle Berry), are up to a whole pile of no good that he has the skills to fix. It's up to him to save the day before his friends end up in the scrap heap.

Robots - Famous Voices, Crazy Robots and Lots of Laughs!

One of the best things about Robots is that it has a great bunch of voice actors as the robots, from Amanda Bynes to Ewan "Star Wars" McGregor and even Halle Berry. The best part though is the brilliant comedian Robin Williams as Fender the banged-up red robot who's always falling apart and is totally nuts. The computer animation in Robots is also excellent and there are some awesome scenes, especially the kinda-Britney cameo!

Robots - DVD Features

Get ready for a DVD that is jam-packed with amazing extras! Not only can you check out mini-features, deleted scenes and director commentary, you also get and exclusive look at the new flick, Ice Age 2! Still want more? How about an exclusive Xbox multi-player racing game to play with your pals? It's all right here on the Robots DVD.

Robots - Bottom Line

Other than a few scenes that should've been shorter and a few jokes that get taken too far, Robots is a funny flick that's worth checkin' out. If your 'rents aren't keen on taking you, let 'em know that Robin Williams is in it!

Animation or Actors - What's Best? Vote!

    • Animation is my fave, plus you still get the actors doing the voices.
    • Animation bugs me, I prefer watching real people act.
    • I like real actors and giant animated special effects!

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
