Batman Begins - The Man Behind the Mask
Before Batman began his crusade for justice in
Gotham City, he was simply Bruce Wayne,
a wealthy orphan looking for a purpose in his life. During his journey, Bruce is recruited by a renegede group called the
League of Shadows. Far on top of an
icy mountain, Bruce learns to hone his
fighting skills and is put to the ultimate test when the League demands that he
kill a prisoner they are holding. Instead, Bruce escapes and gets cracking on saving the city of Gotham by himself.
Batman Begins - Justice for All
Back in Gotham, Bruce gets to work on creating
a secret disguise so he can do good throughout the town without ever being recognized. He decides to conquer his fear of bats by becoming one. Since he's the heir to
a billion-dollar company, Bruce has access to a ton of
cool gadgets that he uses to
battle evil. One of the coolest things is the tank that he uses as his car. It can drive over other cars, blast holes in the sides of buildings and even
fly from rooftop to rooftop!
Batman Begins - The Legend Continues
Batman Begins isn't your average Batman flick. It's a lot less
colorful and cartoony than previous movies, but it's jam-packed with action. From
samurai fights to crazy explosions, there's not a dull moment in this film.
Christian Bale wears the mask well and luckily
Katie Holmes doesn't have a huge role cuz her acting throughout the movie seemed
a little forced. She's definitely no
Kim Basinger (think back to the
original Batman movie with Michael Keaton).
Batman Begins - DVD Features
The Batman Begins DVD comes in
several versions (widescreen, full screen and deluxe edition). If you're looking to pick this movie up, go with the
deluxe edition. It has
tons of features (and the other versions don't have these extras). Get all the behind-the-scenes goodies like how they built sets, how the
actors were cast, and why the batmobile
looks so different this time around. There's an interactive
comic book feature,
picture galleries and a Batman Begins game demo for
your cell phone!
Batman Begins - Bottom Line
If you're a big
comic book fan, or you're just looking for a flick with
lots of action, Batman Begins should be on your movie list
this summer. Sure Katie Holmes is
a little annoying (I mean really, we know you're in love with Tom - stop talking about it!) but the
ninjas, tanks and
Batman antics make up for it!
