Christina Aguilera and Cassie CD Reviews

Dec 27, 2006

Pop-veteran Christina Aguilera is dropping her sixth album and newbie Cassie is launching her debut. Kidzworld checks 'em both out!

Christina Aguilera - Back to Basics

Christina Aguilera is showing off her vocal talents yet again on this vintage-inspired double album. The first disk samples old-school standards while still remaining true to the old Aguilera image on tracks like Still Dirrrty and Thank You (Dedication to the Fans). The second disk blends a bluesy '20s feel with Christina's powerful vocals. The old-school/new school mix fits as well as your favorite pair of vintage Levis.

Christina Aguilera - Back to Basics Fun Facts

  • Back to Basics was leaked to the internet two weeks before the actual release date.
  • The second disc only features songs Christina did with Linda Perry and only contains music that was played live - there's no samples.

    Cassie - Me & U

Cassie's self-titled debut is packed full of dance tracks and synth-heavy club mixes. Me & U is an instant summer dance hit, while tracks like Long Way to Go and Ditto have a more chill vibe. While the tunes are catchy, Cassie's vocals are nothing special. Buy the single instead of the album and save yourself a few hard-earned allowance dollars.
