Pirates of the Caribbean: Quickstrike Card Game Review
Courtesy of Upper DeckAvast ye blaggarts! The swordfighting pirate action of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest movie has come to life with this card game. It lets you duel as Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and other pirates, (even as the freaky Davy Jones), against your friends with the fast-and-furious Quickstrike dueling system. Here's the 411 with Gary's card game review.
Pirates of the Caribbean - Dueling Pirates and Monsters!
The dueling action in the
Pirates of the Caribbean card game is powered by the
Quickstrike trading card game system. First you pick your pirate by choosing a
Chamber Card with two
super moves. Then you make a
40-card deck of
Strike,
Ally and
Advantage cards. Then you
duel your friends! The first player to make three successful attacks wins. A
2-Player Starter Set gets you and a friend battling for
$13 US and
$4 US
Booster Packs give you 10 new cards and a new pirate for your collection.
Pirates of Caribbean - Swashbuckling Action and Pirate Treasure
The
Quickstrike system is a terrific way to duel. It's a fast, back-and-forth, attack and counterattack game that feels just like a
real pirate swordfight, without all the stabbing and
bleeding. Another cool feature is that the
Avatar: The Last Airbender card game uses the Quickstrike system too, so you can battle
pirates vs. martial artists!
Pirates of the Caribbean - Awful Monsters and Pirate Problems
The biggest bummer is that the cards don't have any pictures of
Captain Jack Sparrow,
Will Turner or the other characters from the
Pirates of the Caribbean movies! Instead it's all
artwork. It's also strange that you can duel as
Elizabeth Swann and get her as an ally at the same time - it's
attack of the clones all over again!
Pirates of the Caribbean - Booty or Shipwreck?
The pirates
kick butt on the big screen with their movies and their
card game rocks too! The Quickstrike system is fast, fun and perfect for
swordfighting duels. Being able to mix it with cards from the
Avatar: the Last Airbender card game just makes it better. Try it out and you won't be disappointed.
