Courtesy of D3 Publisher
The Nintendo DS and Sony PSP just got a game more addictive than breathing! Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords takes the online game Bejeweled and combines it with a fantasy adventure. You become a hero and battle the evil Lord Bane by... matching gems? Gary's got the 411 on this super-cool puzzle game with his game review.
Conquering the World
Crushing
villains in Puzzle Quest is done by matching gems on a grid, but with a twist. You take turns moving gems and each
3-of-a-kind match earns you mana, gold and experience - or deals damage if you match skulls. The mana lets you activate
powers, gold buys items and
experience gives you more powers. As you play you can explore a
fantasy world, capture
monsters, train mounts and even
conquer cities to expand your
empire!
Tons of Fun!
Not only is
Puzzle Quest packed full of awesome action, cool stuff to do and awesome
anime-style artwork, it's also
easy to play! Anybody can get into the
gem matching puzzle game action, you can even just play
quick games and not worry about all the adventure stuff. Plus, it's
good for your brain because it makes you think.
Game Flaws
There are two
problems with this game. The first is that
sudden combos can appear out of nowhere and totally
mess you up, but that can happen for you or your opponent so it's not too big a problem. The second problem is that it's so fun you'll get
addicted and forget to do stuff like
eat,
sleep and go to
school!
Addictive Action
It's
awesome! Anybody can pick it up and have fun, but with all the
extra adventure action it can keep even
hardcore gamers hooked. Plus,
multiplayer mode lets you put the
smackdown on your
buddies. Woo hoo!
Thumbs Up:
Anybody can play it.
Capture and train mounts!
Build your own castle and rule over a mighty kingdom!
Learn tons of special abilities.
Cool graphics and a great story.
Multiplayer mode = play with your friends.
Thumbs Down:
You'll forget to eat, sleep and maybe even breathe.
