High School Musical: Makin’ the Cut! :: DS Game Review
We review the moves and the tunes of the High School Musical: Makin' the Cut! video game for DS!
Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, Taylor and the rest of the cool kids from East High are on the DS now with Disney's High School Musical: Makin' the Cut! video game! The game lets you join the gang in the Best Youth Musical (BYM) in America song and dance competition with songs from both High School Musical movies while you play along. For the 411, check out Gary's game review.
Music and DancingThe East High drama club is off to the BYM contest and they need your help. You play along through dozens of levels, playing rhythm mini-games, as they go all the way to the top! The mini-games are all about tapping the touch screen in time with the beat. Plus, you need to stay on your toes for line-tracing and other challenges that spice things up! You can also make your own drama club star in Quickplay, sing and dance along to any tune you've unlocked, create videos of any performance, and even play multiplayer games with your friends.
Cool Moves, Sweet SongsWow! Not only do you get 12 High School Musical songs, there are also a bunch of rhythm games that let you change modes, mix up moves and do a whole lot more as you play. Plus you can challenge a [KWLINK ]friend[/KWLINK] to a musical showdown and launch Zap Attacks to mess them up!
Evaporate Small Game!Unfortunately, the graphics aren't so hot and you really can't dress up the six stars very much. The only way to get some real fashion accessorizing going on is to make your own character, but that's not the point!
Winner or Loser? This game is really cool! The songs are fun, the mini-games start easy but will really challenge you, and making your own characters and videos is great. If you're a High School Musical fan, grab this one now. Even if you're not a HSM fan, but you like good music, you should check it out.
