Top 10 Love Songs of 2008

Feb 06, 2008

Valentines Day is here again and whether you're in love, just a little in like, or simply wishing you were, Kidzworld has the songs for you.

Click here to check out the TOP TEN LOVE SONGS OF 2009.

#10. Feist :: 1234

You’ve heard Leslie Feist’s 1234 in that catchy, colorful iPod commercial about a thousand times. But before it began selling nanos, this was a bittersweet song reflecting on young love. Feist croons about the type of love that leads to “sleepless, long nights” and, just like the lyrics, this song is simple, sweet, and addictive.

#9. Avril Lavigne :: Girlfriend

It takes a confident girl to tell a guy “I want to be your girlfriend”, and Avril certainly fits the mold. She doesn’t exactly pull any punches while trying to convince him to dump his GF because “she’s, like, so whatever.” Apparently Avril believes all is fair in love and war, and isn’t afraid to go get what she wants.

#8. Fergie :: Clumsy

Sometimes love has you “tripping, and stumbling” whether you’re trying to figure out the right thing to say or actually falling over. In this jazzy tune, Fergie sings about relationships and being bitten by the love bug. I guess it’s not too difficult for Fergie to fall for a hottie like Josh Duhamel, because they got engaged at the end of 2007.

#7. Justin Timberlake :: Lovestoned

Sometimes all it takes to fall in love in the club are flashing lights and a slick beat. In this great song, and funky video, Justin Timberlake gets Lovestoned by a girl who’s “flawless like some uncut ice.” When a guy who has been romantically linked to Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, Scarlett Johansson, and Jessica Biel talks about love, it’s best to listen.

#6. Leona Lewis :: Bleeding Love

Bleeding Love, the first North American single from Leona Lewis, winner of Britain’s X Factor contest, was the UK’s biggest selling single last year. This song tells the tale of love’s ability to mend a broken heart. Lewis’ amazing voice perfectly matches the emotional lyrics, and when she sings “I don’t care what they say, I’m in love with you,” you believe it, and probably wish she were saying it to you.
