You’ve Troyed to be patient, but you don’t have to wait any longer! Finally, the gang is back and in theatres (for the first time) for the final installment of East High adventures. It’s graduation time for HSM3: Senior Year! Kidzworld got a sneak peek…

Now or Never

It’s senior year, and the Wildcats are up for the championship—again. The score is tied, and Troy struggles to concentrate on the game, he is distracted by thoughts of the future and Gabriella. She’s already locked in to go to Stanford, which is way over in California, while Troy could play basketball for the University of Arizona, just like his dad before him—but does he want that?

Walk Away

It wouldn’t be HSM if Sharpay and Ryan weren’t up to their old tricks—and this time, it’s all about going big! When Sharpay, Ryan, Kelsi (the composer) and—gulp—someone unexpected are all up for scholarships for the prestigious Juilliard Academy in New York, Sharpay sees her opportunity to go for gold. The spring musical is set to be about East High’s own senior year, which means that Sharpay has to find a way to steal Gabriella’s part so the Juilliard reps will notice her. Hmm…maybe getting Gabriella to Stanford for her early Stanford Honors program will do the trick? Meanwhile, a whole bunch of freshmen show up, including the Sharpay-following Tiara Gold, and the heirs to the Wildcats basketball throne, Jimmie Zara and Donny Dion. HSM4, anyone!?

We’re All in This Together…Again

With Gabriella in California, and the musical not shaping up exactly as Ms. Darbus planned, it looks like the end of the year—prom, the big show, graduation—might be a little less exciting than they previously thought. But Troy’s not about to let everyone down, especially not when his friends’ futures are on the line! Will this senior year be a bust, or a blast? Will Troy and Chad stay friends? Who will get into Juilliard? And will Troy and Gabriella be able to stay together, even if they’re miles apart? You’ll have to see it to believe it…

The Bottom Line

Taking HSM from TV to the big screen means you get all the great energy and moves of the first two HSMs, only blown up bigger, brighter and better. This is definitely a must-see in the theatre, to get the awesome effect of the dance numbers (The Boys Are Back and I Want It All are the highlights). And while it’s sad that this era is over, the new cast members are funny and totally cute, and ready to take the stage any moment! Oh, and just so you know: Sharpay’s not going so far, after all!!
