Catch That Kid Movie Review
Courtesy of Twentieth Century FoxAre you looking for
a movie that will make you laugh and cry, and is full of action, adventure and just a dash of romance? Well, that would be
one heck of a movie - and that would be
Catch That Kid!
Catch That Kid Movie Basics
The movie starts off giving you a funny and cool intro to each of the
main culprits... err... characters. First there's Maddy (played by Kristen Stewart), who we see climbing a
water tower like a
pro rock climber - until she nearly
falls to her death. Then there's Gus (played by
Max Theiriot), who we see using his
mechanical mojo to mess up his
bully brother's go-cart. And last but not least, there is Austin (played by Corbin Bleu), who we see
videotaping everything and anything at the go-cart track owned by Maddy's dad. These three are obviously good friends and they pull together once Maddy's dad's old
climbing injury lands him in
the hospital in need of a $250,000 operation.
Catch That Kid Movie Coolness
Catch That Kid is
non-stop adventure. From the first scene to the last, there is no downtime in this flick. And, there isn't a lot of time wasted on
back-story. You find out everything you need to know about Maddy, Gus and Austin as
the story moves forward. Also,
Catch That Kid is awesome because it really has a little bit of everything. There's
non-stop adventure with the go-carts, the climbing, and the
bank robbing (oh, yeah, there is some funky-cool
bank action). But, there is also some
great comedy, thanks mostly to Gus'
bully brother Brad, and there is a lil' bit of
romance. Gus and Austin both
have it bad for Maddy, but it's kinda funny and very cute rather than all
mushy and gross.
Catch That Kid DVD Features
There aren't a ton of features on the
Catch That Kid DVD but the ones that are included are pretty cool. You've got commentary from all three
stars of the movie (Kristen Stewart,
Corbin Bleu and Max Theiriot). The three
action-flick heroes just say what their feeling and it really makes you feel like you're
chillin' with them in your living room. Next, you get to check out a new short
animated movie called
Gone Nutty, starring that cute little squirrel from
Ice Age. And if that isn't enough to satisfy your craving for
DVD extras, there are also a bunch of deleted scenes to flip through.
Catch That Kid: The Bottom Line
This flick is perfect if you're looking for a date flick for
Valentine's Day. It's got
enough action to impress a guy, enough romance to
impress a girl and enough comedy to keep you
both laughing 'til the end! And, if you don't have a date, go with a bunch of friends - it's a guaranteed good time!
