Game News: 2005, 11, 27 - 12, 03

Dec 27, 2006

It's winter time, the perfect time to sit on your butt and play video games while everybody else freezes outside. To keep your gaming up-to-date, we have the scoop on new video games, what Curious George is up to and the deal on how much $$$ Microsoft makes each time someone buys an Xbox 360. Check it out!

Deleted Pokemon Saved Games!

Remember the Playstation 2 demo disc that would wipe out your memory card? Well, now there's a Nintendo DS game that can wipe out your saved GBA Pokemon game! The new Pokemon-based game, Pokemon: Fushigi no Dungeon Blue for Nintendo DS is designed so if you plug in the Pokemon: Fushigi no Dungeon Red GBA game, you can use the Pokemon you've captured in the GBA game in the DS game. But, if you plug in any other Pokemon game, it'll wipe out your saved game! That means you'll have to start collecting them all over again.

Nintendo has fixed the problem so new versions of the game that get released will be fine. If you have an old version, you can get it replaced by contacting Nintendo.

No More Mario?

No more Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix that is! If you don't have a copy of the Mario DDR game yet, you're probably out of luck. Stores aren't getting any more and it sounds like it's because Nintendo has run out of the dance pads that let you shake your booty when you play, rather than just twiddling your thumbs.

Playstation 3 Parental Controls

Remember when we mentioned that the Nintendo Revolution would have password protection so your 'rents can set it up to not show M-rated games without a code? Well, the Playstation 3 will have the same feature! This means that the Xbox 360, Nintendo Revolution and PS3 all have it.

Burnout Legends for Nintendo DS

The high-speed racing game from EA has dropped! Look for it in a game store near you for $35 US, definitely the cheapest way to have a wicked car crash.

Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat

The Xbox 360 Cha-Ching 411

The smokin' hot new Xbox 360 is flying off of shelves at game stores all over the place. So, Microsoft is raking in the cashola, right? Nope! Even at $299 for the Core System or $399 for the full Xbox 360, Microsoft is losing money on them. How much money? Take the poll above and find out!

So, why is Microsoft losing money to sell you an Xbox 360? Cuz they make money for each Xbox 360 game sold. The more Xbox 360s they sell, the more games they sell. It's like getting a giant mug from 7-11 that you can refill for cheap, as long as you go back to 7-11. Microsoft knows they'll lose money on the consoles, but they'll make it back with each game you buy!

The Sims 2 for the Sony PSP

The virtual people just got crunched down even smaller as EA announced today that they've finished The Sims 2 video game for the Sony PSP. Keep an eye on your fave game store for this game when it drops on December 15, 2005!
