Ashley Tisdale & Jordan Pruitt CD Reviews

Ashley Tisdale is dropping her debut album and Jordan Pruitt is trying to prove shes no ordinary girl. We review both albums.

High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale is launching her debut solo album and High School Musical: The Concert's opening act Jordan Pruitt is trying to prove that she's no ordinary girl. Do these music newbies have what it takes? We're taking a look at these up-and-coming ladies.

Ashley Tisdale - Headstrong

Better known as Sharpay Evans from High School Musical, Ashley Tisdale is out to make a name for herself. Her album is filled with catchy, parent-friendly pop that gets a passing grade, though it isn't quite as fun as the music from High School Musical or other big hits like the Hannah Montana Soundtrack. Much of the album not-so-subtly rips of pop-rock icon Gwen Stefani and, while we can't blame Ashley for wanting to emulate everyone's fave Hollaback Girl, it would be nice if Ashley found her own voice for her next effort.

Ashley Tisdale - Headstrong Fun Facts

  • The song Don't Touch is a cover of a song by Thai singer Tata Young.
  • Unlove You is a cover of a song by Sarah Hudson.
  • Scott Storch (who was famously dissed in Christina Aguilera's song F.U.S.S.) produced some of the tracks on Headstrong.
  • Some of Ashley's songs were produced by music production team The Matrix, who have also produced songs for Hilary Duff, Avril Lavigne, and Britney Spears.

Jordan Pruitt - No Ordinary Girl

There are a lot of Disney kids vying to be the next acting/singing/High-School-Musical-loving Mouseketeer on the block - so many in fact, that you could be forgiven for getting a few confused. But Jordan Pruitt is different. With her quirky voice, relatable songs, and undeniable hook, Jordan Pruitt is a name you'll be hearing a lot more of in the future.

Jordan Pruitt - No Ordinary Girl Fun Facts

  • Jordan co-wrote most of the songs on No Ordinary Girl.
  • The single Jump to the Rhythm was released with the Disney Channel Original Movie Jump In!
  • There are two different bonus tracks on No Ordinary Girl, depending on where the album is bought.

Last off, Jim traveled to the Dark Lands without his friends. Should Dreamworks continue the best series in history?
