Demi Lovato and Pussycat Dolls CD Reviews

Demi Lovato waves Camp Rock goodbye (with the help of some boys named Jonas) on her debut, while the Pussycat Dolls slink back onto the scene with their second album. Kidzworld takes a spin with Doll Domination and Don’t Forget.
Demi Lovato :: Don’t Forget
The newest
Disney superstar is 16-year-old
Demi, who made a pretty strong
first impression in this summer’s
Camp Rock. And while the Camp was more of a pop place to be, Don’t Forget is definitely
punk rockin’. It helps that Demi is friends with the
Jonas Brothers, who join her here on a few tracks. But she’s got this thing locked down
pretty good on her own, singing about wearing
Converse with dresses and
liking boys just the way they are. Don’t Forget has the potential to launch Demi not just into the Disney
stratosphere, but beyond it.
Miley has more reasons than
Team Demi T-shirts to watch her back!

Fun Facts
Demi is of Hispanic, Irish and Italian descent.
She is currently on tour with the Jonas Brothers, who also helped write and perform on many of the songs on Don’t Forget.
Like the JoBros, Demi wears a purity ring, but she wears hers on a chain around her neck.
Some of Demi’s earlier songs, like Stronger and Open, appeared on the Disney Channel short TV series As the Bell Rings, of which Demi was the star.

Pussycat Dolls :: Doll Domination
If nothing else, the Pussycat Dolls are a pretty effective
hit making machine. They’ve got lots of people on their side, like
Timbaland and
Missy Elliott, who help craft their songs into
surefire sellers. Like their first album, this one likely has three or four hit singles, like
When I Grow Up, Bottle Pop and
In Person, but the rest of the tracks will probably not make much impact. But they really only need one shot at
being infectious: Remember
Don’t Cha? How could you
forget? One surprise: Whatcha Think About That, featuring Missy Elliott, is
boring. Not what you’d expect from the
backwards-rapping powerhouse.
Fun Facts
The Pussycat Dolls started out as a live Burlesque show in LA that included Carmen Electra and Christina Applegate.
Head Doll Nicole Scherzinger was discovered when she won the Popstars reality show and became part of winning group Eden's Crush.
The Dolls performed songs from Doll Domination at the MTV Asia Awards in Malaysia earlier this year. The last time they played there, they were fined for indecency because of their costumes and onstage moves.
They have recorded a version of Don’t Cha in Simlish, the language of the Sims, for use in The Sims 2 Pets game.
