Malcolm in the Middle - The Grandparents

Malcolm's grandparents from Canada come for a surprise visit. Grandparents can be pretty neat sometimes - they make good food, they do things with you and lots of times they'll even buy you lots of cool stuff. But Malcolm's grandparents aren't really like that - they complain all the time, his gramma drinks a lot and they're generally just pretty unpleasant people.
The family's fridge doesn't work so Grandpa tells Hal he's a bad father. So they go and buy a brand new fridge - thinking the grandparents will be kind enough to pay for it. But they have a change of heart, which means Mom and Dad have to work extra hours to pay for this new $3000 fridge. And that's bad news for Malcolm, Reese and Dewey - because it means their new babysitters for the next two weeks are their crazy grandparents.
And it turns out to be a nightmare. Grandpa tries to "toughen up" Malcolm by giving him regular beatings, Grandma spends most of her time getting drunk and then it gets worse. Grandpa lets Reese play with a World War II hand grenade. Reese (being the smart kid that he is) decides to pull the pin. Panic begins, and the grenade ends up toasting the brand new fridge and much of the house.
That is the "last straw' - Mom and Dad realize the crazy grandparents are a danger to the kids (and the rest of the neighborhood) and they send them packing back to the Canadian wilderness.
